Prof. Dr. Fırat Helvacıoğlu, 2004–2019 yılları arasında ESCRS ve ASCRS başta olmak üzere uluslararası bilimsel toplantılarda 71 bildiri sunmuştur. Çalışmaları katarakt cerrahisi, akıllı lensler, kornea ve keratokonus, refraktif cerrahi ve oküler yüzey hastalıklarını kapsar. Ayrıca Türk Oftalmoloji Derneği ulusal kongrelerinde 70 bildirisi bulunmaktadır.
